Teaching at Shumway is going well. I'm blessed to actually have a teaching job in this economy even if it wasn't what I expected. I'm learning to love all of my 3 students. Today while I was grading some of their work, I started thinking about how this is really what I want to do and how much fun I'm actually having. I think the students and I all agree that our favorite subject is science. I've been finding a lot of fun projects to work on and I've got some fun ideas for Halloween! One thing we'll be doing around Halloween is studying the body so I'm saving the muscle & skeleton systems for then!
Will's my hero and does a lot for us. He's tutoring about 10 hours a week and is also doing his internship at the Behavioral Health Clinic in Idaho Falls. He's learning a lot about the psychology field and about mental disorders. He always has some interesting stories. His church calling is keeping him fairly busy as well. He gets to church on Sundays at 7:00am and is there until 1:00 on non-busy days. But, we're both growing from it. I'm having fun as the family history coordinator. We planned a fireside last Sunday about the doctrines of Family History. It went pretty well. Hopefully we'll get some students excited about doing family history. In a couple weeks I'll start teaching Temple Prep! YAY!
Some random highlights: We joined a frisbee team w/ some of our friends. I love it! We've won both of our games so far! We're pretty amazing...
We went down to UT for Conference and we were able to go to Will's mission reunion and see my friend Carrie & her family & Will's Grandma McDonnel. It was a fast trip but so worth it. Wasn't General Conference amazing? It seems like when President Hinckley was prophet, conferences were always very optimistic. It's not like they aren't optimistic now, but the last two conferences I noticed a lot of talk about how the world is wicked but we have to help it come back to Christ. Anyway, life is good and we are blessed.
