"The pebble-like details" in my life

Our first Valentines Day together we had only been dating a few weeks.  It's hard enough deciding what to get Will after a year plus of marriage, so needless to say I struggled with what to get him.  I ended up writing a poem and decorating his apartment.  I think there may have been more but that's all I can remember.  We also did baptisms for the dead at the temple.  But,  that's not what this post is about.  His present to me was a book by Elder Neal A. Maxwell entitled, "Whom the Lord Loveth: The Journey of Discipleship."  I was grateful for it at the time.  I always love reading books by our leaders but at that time I only read a little bit.  I was talking the toughest class for my major and, because of that, teaching 1 college history class and teaching a general studies class for the Heber J. Grant Program.  So, I hadn't looked through it until the other day, almost two years later.  But, I decided to start reading it again.

I got to today's thought, which is the main reason for this post.  Elder Maxwell says, "When, like a big boulder, a large blessing rolls visibly into place, it is certainly noticed, appreciated, and counted.  Meanwhile, however, the less-noticed, pebble-sized blessings mount up, layer upon layer.  Cumulatively, the latter may out-mass many of our large blessings. "  He then goes on to say how we need to make inventories of our blessings and be aware of what God had given us.  I started thinking about President Eyring's counsel a few conferences ago about remembering.  I thought I would dedicate this post to remember the "pebble-like" blessings in my life, especially since we just celebrated Thanksgiving.
