Well we've had all kinds of adventures lately. Will's been very busy with his church calling, classes and tuturing job. I don't see him much during the day but he's very good about making time to spend with me in the evenings. We're enjoying the singles ward. It really is a good group of students. We're both learning a lot. As part of his calling we get to have Family Nights with some of the students in the ward. They keep us well entertained! The activities committee in the ward planned an intense hike. We've included some pictures below. It was out in Driggs, ID, a wealthy vacatoin spot as it is close to the Targhee Ski Resort, in Darby Canyon.
We were all pretty pumped to get out and enjoy some beautiful country. Bishop supplied us with some good drinks & snacks.
It was a beautiful day!
The path was a little muddy with some snow but it made us feel tough! (As you can see...)
But, after awhile the trail ended and it was just snow. A few of the students wanted to get to the cave that was at the top of the trail though so we foolishly kept on going. We eventually made it to the cave as you can see below. (However, it wasn't really a cave you could go in, as there was a raging river coming out of it.) The problem was getting back down the mountain. We had a few near death experiences but luckily we went and did baptisms that morning so we were blessed! The near death experiences mainly resulted from Will deciding it'd be a good idea to slide down part of the mountain instead of walking. He made it down just fine, but others weren't so fortunate. One person hit a tree (only hard enough to get a few scratches) and another girl was going out of control fast enough that if she had hit the tree, it would have been bad, but luckily 3 girls helped her avoid it (by a fraction of an inch). It ended up being a long day and by the time we got back home, Will & I were quite exhausted.
For Memorial day we went to visit Leah & Davin. We camped out in their backyard and spent some quality time with the owls that live in their tree. Will had a fun time with them.
We were also able to go on a hike with them and Will realized he could defy gravity...
It was a pretty view!
We also went to Craters of the Moon, a national park in Arco, Idaho. We had fun exploring the caves and hiking up the old volcanoes. As you can see from the pictures, it's a whole new experience!
We've enjoyed seeing the different beautiful places around Idaho and are looking forward to more exploring now that Summer is almost here!
